Video will not play - PLEASE HELP

Struggling

I am working on an important project due tomorrow. After completing a
section of the video we saved and closed the program, now when we reopen it
the video will not play. The Timeline is in tact, and I can move the cursor,
but nothing comes in the preview screen, and I can not get the video to play
or move when I press play. I have tried to reopen it several times and try
again without success. This happened once previously we moved a few clips
around and suddenly it worked, now nothing is working.
Please help.

that often happens when you're using video files made with a compression
codec that Movie Maker doesn't work well with.What kind of source files are
you using?
