Video not playing in Movie Maker

Greetings! I am having issues with a movie I imported into Movie Maker. The
audio plays fine, but there's a black box where the video belongs. I'm sure
it's some sort of codec issue, but can anyone give me a pointer to the right
needle in the haystack? I was recommended to download the AC3 filter, but
that didn't solve the problem. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Hi John,

I have the same peticular problem. First I'll try to solve yours and them
I'll ask my question.

At first I only received sound and no image (black) both in Movie Maker as
in Windows Media player. You can solve this problem by installing the Klite
Codec. Everything should work fine then.

However, I recently installed MS Windows Service Pack 3 and as a result, I
have agine the black image in Windows Movie Maker but NOT in Windows Media
Player. The location of my files hasn't changed, even in a new project I
cannot preview my video clips. And no preview means no cutting, so no movie
at all.

Can anyone help me please?

Thanks
Kristof
