"Video Mode Not Supported" Help!!!

During random points, my monitor choses to become black, and the monitor
power indicator begins to flash orange and off (green = normal). My first
instinct was to reformat, which I already did, twice to no avail. I also
opened up my computer and made sure the video card was tightly secure, and
all nearby wires as well. The monitor power chord and the chord connect it
to the CPU are all secured correctly. I seem to have this problem when i
either leave my computer idle, or when i am in the process of running several
applications at once, aim, itunes, and a game.

During the startup screen it occasionally asks me to check the power
settings in the setup menu, which all seem normal to me. Please, help!!!

Indications are you video (card or built in) is going bad. If you can borrow
another one I'd try that first.
