Video is not capturing

I am having a problem, I connected my camcorder by usb cable to my computer
and I know that it is connected. I can go through the whole setup of
capturing the video but when I click start capture nothing happens. The
video camera is going but it is not reading on the computer. I was able to
capture a video with the same way back in November but now nothing. Help!!
I need to get this video on my computer as soon as possible.

MM does not generally work with USB, can you not connect by Firewire? If
not, use the programme which came with your cam.

Sorry, I meant I was connected with a firewire. Also, no program came with
the camera. I was able to get the video from the camera to the computer back
in November, but honestly I forgot what I did.

What kind of camcorder are you using? I have a JVC GR-DF550 and I am
experiencing the same problem.
