"Out of range" usually means that the resolution you have set is not
supported by your monitor.
If it's a CRT monitor, the list of supported resolutions is in the monitor's
user manual (or on the manufacturer's web site). Only use a resolution that
is supported by your monitor.
If it's an LCD monitor you should be using the monitor's native resolution.
The native resolution is in the monitor's user manual (or on the
manufacturer's web site).
To get yourself back up and running, try this procedure first:
Thanks Ted. I restarted with Last Known... We'll see how it goes. I
previously reset my resolution to native resolution, but it still keeps going
black. I hooked up monitor to another computer and there were no problems
with monitor, so I think the problem is with my computer. I received a Send
Error Report and the response was Error caused by NVIDIA Graphics Driver. It
suggested I remove old driver, which I did, and reinstall updated driver,
which I did. When the driver wizard tried to run, it said there were no
compatible drivers.... sigh.
I'll see if this Last Known ... works. Thanks for your input.
