lost avi video

I have xp professional with wmp11. I have always used wmp11 to view avi
files from my digital camera. I installed a creative zen and now I cannot
view my videos, most of the time a black screen with white snow. the audio is
ok. After about a half minute I get a message...WMP has encountered a
problem and must shut down.....
Any suggestions on how to get my video back or is it damaged and can't be
retrieved?
I am a beginner in this area.

I recovered my videos!! Thank you so much. I tried the restore and it
wouldn't do it. Then I uninstalled the Zen it didn't seem to work so I did
it again and presto the videos played. Thank you, again.
