I have just loaded Win2000 onto a dell optiplex and for some reason I did not
get the video driver for my Dell p780. I went to Dell Support and downloaded
the driver, but I am unable to install it. When I try to update the driver
using the wizard, it is unable to find the driver even though I can see it.
I have tried unzipping the files on a floppy and on the desktop and neither
work. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong.

Thanks, Ben.

Is the file you downloaded from Dell as 'exe' file or can you see an 'inf'
file.

With the wizard, ask to search a location. Uncheck floppy/CD ROM, Windows
Update & check the location one

On the next screen, click browse & go to that location (where new driver is)
& select the 'inf'

Click next & Windows should install your new driver if it thinks its better
than your old one
