Video Corruption Problem

I am running XP Pro SP2, on a system built on a Gigabyte 8INXP motherboard.
I use an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB AGP video card driving dual monitors.

The problem is this: When the system POSTs, and until Windows finishes
loading and starts up, the image on both monitors is corrupted. However,
after Windows has loaded and starts up the corruption disappears and there
is no problem with the displays.

I am running the latest drivers and software, and have been doing so for a
long time with no problems whatsoever. This problem just appeared suddenly -
it was not the result of an update or other change to the software or
system.

What could be the cause of this, and how can I correct the problem?

It sounds like a problem with the monitor displaying the resolution (640x400
or whatever the starting resolution is).

Have you tried another monitor to see if it's messed up there too?

Joe:

It's not the monitors themselves. They work just fine when I try them on
another computer.
