Video Card

Richard

I have Nvidia 7600GT. I have the cd with drivers for Vista 64-bit. Now I use
Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit). But, I receive some messages: my video
card drivers can not be installed succefull and Windows trys to make some
updates with the same results. What can I do?
I have 3gb of ram, why windows uses 1.5 gb only with the system processes?
Can be the source of problem my video card?

Try this. Go to www.nvdia.com, select Download Drivers, select the
appropriate choices from the pickers (Gefore Drivers, 7 Series, 7600GT, Vista
64). This will give you the very latest drivers which are probably more
up-to-date and bug free than the CD.

Then, before you install the nVidia drivers, uninstall whatever default
drivers Windows has installed. Right click My Computer, Manage. Then select
device manager, display adapters, highlight whatever it says (probably
Standard VGA), right click, uninstall.

Now install the nVidia downloaded drivers.

Hope this works.

Following Johns instructions, the 169.25 drivers work fine for the 64-bit
Vista. If you have trouble installing or uninstalling, try SAFE mode. If
you have installed the nVidia drivers from the CD, make sure to uninstall
from Control Panel /Programs /uninstall.
