Video Card with 'usable' TV-Out????

Can anyone recommend a video card the produces 'usable' TV output? I'd
like to hook an older computer up to my tv so I can access internet and
maybe mess with a game or two in my living room. I have an ATI 7000
Radeon that is basically crap for TV output and was just wondering if
anyone know of something that is DEFINITELY better. TIA!

Unless you've got a TV with DVI or HDMI inputs you aren't going to get a
decent picture on a TV for anything but games. The desktop, browser, etc.
will just be tooooo fuzzy.

What you saw is what you'll get. The resolution of a TV sucks. 525
lines by how many dots per line? (not much). Your monitor is far
better.

There's nothing wrong with the Radeon, it's the TV that's 'crap'.

Standard (analogue) NTSC is 525 vertical scan lines of which only about
480, at best, are visible (overscan usually brings it under 450), assuming
the interleave stability is good.

Horizontal is more complex. Mono chrome bandwidth is <6Mhz for around 640
dots. Color bandwidth, however, is a fraction of that so even 320 dots tend
to color smear.

So, in general, about the best one can hope for in a 'near clean' color TV
picture is 320x400, if you want it all visible (not off screen in the
over-scan).

With S-Video and peaking you can do a bit better than 'broadcast' but it's
still not going to handle even standard VGA 640x480, much less anything
higher, so you can get the most wonderful video card on the planet and it's
still going to look like 'crap' on an analogue TV set.

THere is nothing better. Text on a TV is shite unless its LCD and
you're using the digital inputs.

jaunty little tunes. i spent a lot of my life fat, it can really put a
damper on the sex drive, now i'm losing the gut i sometimes get the
maniacal urge to hump everything in sight, good it passes quickly, would
you be my friend?
