video card memory

I got a Geforce 4 mx 440 video card with 64mb ddr. Nevertheless, when I look
at the properties of the system it says it has only 32mb and games that
require 64mb would not run.
I belive this is a windows Xp problem because when I boot the computer it
says it has 64mb.
Anyone has an idea of what could be the problem and how could I solve it.

Thanks.

I checked the Nvidia knowledgebase but didn't see anything that matched your
problem. You may have to contact the video card manufacturer for help. Although
your video card is using Nvidia technology, they don't make video cards. See

What type of Video card did you have installed before you got this card?

You might need to use the nvidia driver cleanup utility to completely remove
the drivers for the previous card from your system...

Also what version of DirectX do you have installed?

yes, i got them and the problem persists.

Locate, download and install the correct AGP slot drivers, which are normally
part of the motherboard chipset drivers.
