Video Card Issues

When I install my new Video Card geforce4 mx440 on XP..It
sends my screen to "Cable disconnected go to power save
mode" Why os this?

If you previously were using an onboard graphics adapter (on the
motherboard) did you disable this in the BIOS before installing the new
card?
