Blurry pictures after installing new LCD monitor!!!

G

Guest

I installed a Proview FV926w 19 in. LCD monitor w/1440X990 resolution. My
internet pictures were blurry so thinking my video card needed an upgrade, I
installed an nVIDIA GeForce4 MX440/8X card. I downloaded the new drivers from
both v/c and monitor manufacturers. Still blurry and seams to be no change
in pictures from old card (3dfx VooDoo 3000 v/c). TIA for your help, Jim

Hello,

Ensure that you using the native resolution in your display properties. (its
normally the highest slider point)

Good suggestion. However, the OP is already running at the native (1440x990) resolution. Perhaps they can try enabling the ClearType option.

Hello,

Enabling ClearType has no effect on images, only text.

are you using the normal monitor connector or the DIGITAL DVI connector.
might make a difference.

Why? Just curious.

if you use the normal monitor connector here is what happens.
with analog connector data is converted several times back and forth between digital to analog suffering some loss in the process.
if you use the DIGITAL DVI connector, it is digital all the day.
