have bought capture device and can capture from analogue camcorder but when trying to capture from VCR player it doesnt respond. Is this outside scope of Movie Maker or a general system fault

Hi there,

What is it that is not responding? If you are referring to the VCR then
the VCR expects its commands to come from a remote or the buttons on the
front of it. You can get VCR's that will work the way I think you want, but
they are industrial machines...way expensive
