Video Capture

Ben

I have a JVC GR-DX75U, which is the DV camcorder I
recently purchased. I took it home and followed all of
the directions for installing the drivers, getting
started, et cetera. However, I cannot capture video with
Windows Movie Maker. It will recognize both the audio and
video capture devices okay, but will show an "Unspecified
Error" when I go to save the movie. The program that came
with this camera isn't as good as WMM2, and I would
appreciate any help whatsoever.
Thanks!

i also have a similar problem with my JVC GR-D50 EK camcorder. when i try to
capture using WMM2 i get the error " an interface has too many methods...."
and when i click " ok " then "next" i get the message " unspecified error ".
i am connecting via USB. the bundled software program Imagemixer works fine
but is very limited. any help please?.

USB capture means it's probably MPEG2 files, ones that MM2 probably can't
handle.... Capture via firewire is the way to get DV-AVI files, and aligned
with MM2.

If firewire isn't an option, see the Importing Source Files > Video > MPEG2
page of my website.
