video capture conflict

I am experiencing trouble for capturign video. I recently bought i webcam .
Everythign works fine except for recording a clip in avi. I tried to look
for any driver conflict and found none. I can take snapshots with my cam,
but for video, it doesnt do anything. I tried different programs for video
capturing and they all have errors. Some just jam, others have error
messages saying there is another program accessing the video. Only
windowns movie maker seems to work. Does anyone know how to resolve this
conflict? I am using xp

Use device manager to uninstall the camera

then restart and reinstall the drivers.

If it a driver issue that should fix it. If not contact the company which
makes your product for a replacement camera

i need to submit a demo tape , well, 2 copies of a vhs or a dvd and 2 copies
of my voice over clips on a cd but my tape is so ppoorly edited, i tried to
do it with atrifacts and i would like to get this job as i really need one
and i just moved down to my familys home in clemmons nc (known to some as
bum-**** egypt) so i am not finding work so easy to get, esp since i dont
know how to do anything really except acting,voice overs,singing telegrams i
would do in the city i used top read tarot cards for parties - they paid
100.00 @hr, but i am going to move to LA or my girlfriend thinks we should go
live in paris for awhile - anyway what i am trying to find is a place that
rents those video capture cards for a week or so, or somebody who would let
me borrow one or wants to trade me for something. I have several
beautifulmens suits, some classic record albumds,a couple 1970 playboys
a1985 startrek mug, i have too much stuff -do you have any suggestions
