(vgaoem.fon) Missing or Corrupt

C

Craig

System crashed. I can't boot up. At boot up, I'm getting A
black screen with the following message:

Window could not start because the following file is
missing or corrupt:
\windows\system\vgaoem.fon

You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows
setup using the original set up CD-ROM.
Select 'r' at the first sceen to start repair.

The problem is that I only have the CD's that came with
the HP Laptop. The discs are: hp Notebook pc F3393-121006A
Pavilion. System Recovery WXP HE English Disk 1-4.

If I use these disks I will loose everything on the hard
drive. This is the original OS and it compressed on one of
the system recovery disk. I am running Windows XP Home
that was preloaded from HP. The only other OS that I own
are 98se and 2000. Is there any help. Is there any way can
I get that file and load it through a floppy or other
disk. I would rather not have to go out and buy A new XP
Home cd.

Thanks in advance!
