Very strange events

On startup the server works fine, then after a while
things start to go funny, firstly if I open the add/remove
programs folder it does not work and the close button at
the bottom is written like this cl&ose. Also if I open the
event viewer and then click on a event the popup window
does not appear, but if I try to close the event viewer it
says I must close all windows even though I cannot see any.
Cannot install anything as it says that the installer
service is not functioning/not installed.

What are you using for internet connectivity? Do you have
win2000 VPN installed? Do you have terminal services
running? Have you had any viruses latley and which ones?
