Ive had many problems with other motherboards in the beginning stages of
installing windows, i have had to disable some options in the bios in order
to install windows efficiently, and sometimes just to install windows,
period... anyways, my computer is completely messed up, and i want to
reinstall windows.. however, when i begin installing, between screens in the
first setup menu, it pauses for like 20 seconds... i remember there was a
time when this wasnt a problem. is there an option in the bios to get
around that? or is there any other way to fix this problem?

any help would be greatly appriciated

Do NOT forget to disable the boot virus protection. That's killed me on
installations, partitioning, etc. Since you are writing to the boot sector,
the protection will not allow many operations to complete.
