Can someone help?

I have a LCD screen, suddenly it began showing vertical
lines accross the screen. First there were two, now there
are five, the right two are red and the left three are
blue, they are unevenly spaced.

How can I remove them?

Sounds like a display problem.

Temporarily replace the monitor with an alternate. If the display is correct, then the LCD
monitor is bad and you should get it repaired/replaced.

I have seen this many times with laptops and it has never been economically
viable to have them repaired (quotes of £600+ just not worth it for a 2 year
old machine).

I assumed the main cause was repeated stress on the screen caused by
repeated opening and closing of the laptop, so I would be interested to know
if your situation is with a laptop or a desktop LCD?
