Lines on monitor

Please help.
I have a flat screen monitor. Recently it began showing
vertical lines. There were two lines, now there are five
lines, they are spread unevenly across the screen. Three
are blue and two are red.
How can I get rid of them??

I would suggest the following in this order:
1. Check monitor cable seating (make sure it is screwed in tight)
2. Uninstall and reinstall video card drivers (download latest if available)
3. Make sure that you monitor's built-in settings are reset to default
4. Switch video cards
5. Switch monitors
