verifying Java

I have downloaded Java's latest version 1.5.0.2 but the Java test site
http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml
keeps insisting I have the older version 1.1.4.

I've also checked the Java program which indicates it is 1.5 and checked
that the applet is set for the browsers. Alsio checked in IE tools/advanced
and made sure the Sun Java site is checked.

What to do?

Had a similar problem until I downloaded version 1.5.0_02 at

I've been using J2SE v1.4.2_08 JRE

I thought there was lot's of issues yet to be resolved with v1.5?

Do you know of any problems with v1.5 ?
