Verifying DMI pool data - error loading O.S.

Verifying DMI pool data then a long pause then this message shows up
error loading operating system, then I can reboot and everything is
fine.
During boot up I get this error about one out of 5 boots, every now
and then it says disk error instead of error loading o.s.
Any ideas as to what is causing this? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

You have hardware problems, at the bios level. Has nothing to do with
Windows XP, any other version of Windows, whether you install Linux or OS2.
Look to your hardware. Have you been inside the case recently? What did you
do?

I haven't made any internal changes and the only external things that
have changed is I added a external usb floppy drive, and I plugged in
a DSL router to the built in LAN port on the motherboard, these were
installed at the same time (3 months ago) and yes now that I think
about it this is when the errors started. I have the router set to
power off when PC is off, and the power comes back on to the router
when I turn the PC on. I tried taking the usb- floppy out of the boot
sequence but the error still comes up every now and then.
Any suggestions?

Thanks
Tim
