Verifying access to keys

E

Ed Hallsten

In attempting to install Norton Internet Security 2003 I
consistently get an error message (1402) stating that I
must verify access to the key that is named. I am on my
notebook, a Sony VAIO running XP. Symantec support has
been of no help -- can't talk to anyone. Any help will
be appreciated.

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to the key indicated and right click
on it. Select Permissions. System, Administrator, and Administrators
should have full access. Any user that is part of the Administrators group
should have full access.

Sorry I can't turn it into a tiny URL from here.

Sometimes it quicker to search the KB at Symantec.

Hope this assists.
