VDD Error Message on Bootup

F. Wegori

Greetings! I'm using WIN2K Pro. Must have glitched
something in the registry, because now when I bootup, I
get and error message telling me that :

"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\VirtualDeviceDrivers. VDD.
Virtual device driver format in the registry is invalid.
Choose CLOSE to terminate the application."

I have .gif's of the error message box if needed.

Thanks. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

David,

Thank you for the reply. The Key, "VirtualDeviceDrivers"
does in fact exist. However, the RH pane is blank. When
I attempt to follow the instructions in MS Knowledge Base
Article - 254914, I get an error message that
says: "Registry Editor could not create the value entry.
The value already exists. Please enter new name."

Switching to Regedit, I did a search for VDD but it could
only find:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\adaptec\creator API\2.0
\settings (then in the
RH pane):

[Default] REG_SZ (value not set)
DVDDEFAULTFILESYSTEM REG_SZ File System.UDF

If the value VDD already exists, I can't find it.
Additional suggestions please and thanks again.

Frank
