VCR - No S cable hook up

I am trying to transfer video from a VHS tape to a DVD. I have done this
with my analog video camera using the red/yellow/white cables AND an S video
cable and it works fine, but the VCR doesn't have an S video cable hook up.
It only has the red/yelloe/white cables. Is there another way I can hook up
the VCR to my computer and watch the videos on my monitor and/or transfer to
my hard drive or DVD?

The yellow cable is video. Doesn't your video card come with an adapter for
it? Most have an adapter that converts the S video to a yellow RCA type
cable.

The video card I have is a RADEON X300 series and it does have an adapter.
But when I hook up all 3 to the VCR and to the back of the computer, I only
get the volumne and not a picture. I had the same problem with my video
camera and the only way I got it to work is to hook up an S video cable also.
Is it possible that the video is 'turned off'? I have a SONY VCG-RC210G and
it's fairly new.

I found a VCR/DVD combo with an S cable hook up. I tried to use the 3
cables AND the S video cable and it still doesn't work. I am now getting a
blue screen with sound (as opposed to a blank blank screen without the S
cable).

I don't know what you are using to capture your video with but it should
have different settings on it. They would say s-video, composite and tuner
if there is a TV tuner on your system. To use the yellow RCA cable you would
have to set it to composite. Look for those on the toolbar or in the options
or preferences of your capture device.

I am using Click to DVD. It does have 2 S cable choices and 2 Composite
choices. I tried them all. The first S cable in the list I get sound but no
picture. I don't get any sound or picture in any of the other 3. Is it
possible that there is a setting on my computer to turn the composite video
hook up on?

Don't believe so but if you get sound maybe the VCR has to be set to
whatever video port the cable is or just to TV. If you haven't tried that
yet.
