I have tried to reload Windows XP Home Edition(Upgrade)
several times doing a clean install, as spelled out by
Michael Stevens, MVP, in his document "Clean Install
Windows XP", which I printed out from his web site
http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanixpnstall.html, I keep
getting the same message. I was following the steps
successfully through formating the partition when I get
the follwing message:
The following value in the .SIF file used by Setup is
corrupted or missing:
Value 0(zero) on the line in section [SourceDiskFiles]
with key "SP1.cab."
Setup cannot continue. To quit Setup, press F3.
The only .SIF file I could find was on the Microsoft
Windows XP Home Edition CD. This file can not be replaced
since it's on a CD. So how do I go about fixing this
problem so I can get my computer up and running?? Do I
have to go out and buy another MS WinXP CD??? I just
bought this one a little over a month ago. Right now I'm
using my daughter's computer and one of these days she'll
want it back.
Any help will be appreciated.
