Validation Tool (KB892130) update

Pierrecubb

I have a legitimate activated Windows XP operating system supplied by Dell.
When I run Windows update it trys to install Windows Genuine Advantage
Validation Tool (KB892130) update but always fails. Consequently I am unable
to download any security updates.
The ActiveX control in IE/Tools/Manage Add-ons, is enabled and up to date.
Any help appreciated...........Peter

Try the following workaround:

The WGA diagnostic tool has been updated to
to correct a problem seen by some users.
Please download and execute it from:

http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

After running the tool, please return to Windows Update and try again.

Thank you Carey for your help. I downloaded the five updates that I needed,
at first a window came up to say they were unable to be successfully
installed, while I was thinking about it, there appeared another window to
say they had been installed and to reboot. So all appears well, thanks
again......Peter
