Vaio keeps crashing -- told memory problem

So my vaio keeps crashing and it started one month after my warranty so i'm
on my own.

The blue screen keeps on showing up randomly, independent of what is
running. I had someone look at i thinking it might be a virus and he
concluded (after several hours) that since it crashed during a system restore
(using new disks) that it was most likely a memory issue. How do i figure
this out for myself and fix the problem?

I found a version but it appears to be in German. I'll try again tonight.
