Outlook keeps crashing!!!

My Outlook 2007 instance keeps crashing. There is no discernable reason for
this. It always occurs when I switch to a different window for Outlook: I
receive a notification that Outlook has experienced a problem and needs to
close. Then it increases its memory requirement from its normal 70-90Mb all
the way upto around 290Mb!!! before DW20 closes it. Mostly, this operation
will restart Outlook. However, the latest incident has NOT done this.

Can anyone give me any idea WHY this should be happening? And, also how I
may reconfigure Outlook to stop this happening?

When is it crashing? Directly at startup?
What is being logged to the Event Viewer regarding this?

It crashes at any time during the session, usually when I switch Outlook
windows.

The latest Error report is as follows:-
ID: 6, Application Name: Microsoft Office Outlook, Application Version:
12.0.4518.1014, Microsoft Office Version: 12.0.4518.1014. This session lasted
37149 seconds with 1620 seconds of active time. This session ended with a
crash.
