utlook 2007 takes upto 2 minutes to start up?

my pc is running duop core processor and 1 gig of ram not a slow machine but
when I open outlook it takes upto 2 minutes to even initiate the
send/recieve.
Why is it so slow to start up? please tell me what I am doing wrong or what
can be done to make it start up fast like it used to prior to 2007 version.
 
Install the Outlook Performance Update and see if that does anything for
you. If not, post back.
