Utility to Properly Print Web Pages?

Any such utility?

IE6 and Firefox cut off the right side of the text quite frequently.

My Epson printer had a "Web to Page" utility that was great, but I ditched
that clogging ink hog and the utility won't work with my HP.

TIA

Although I'd still love a utility, I found in another group that if you go
into Firefox's print preview and play with the percentage settings until it
fits, it will print that way.

howdy!

what you are asking for doesn't really exist AFAIK. as a web developer, i
build in printability as a separate style sheet which takes into account
the differences between printing to screen as well as printing to paper.

in this, we essentially tell the browser to interpret our style information
differently for specific devices. in HTML, we might have a chance at
writing HTML rules differently, and with this build a utility, but with XML
and XHTML, the contemporary codes of the web, this is impossible because we
can create our own tags, thus no automated rule set can apply.

there is one way that you can render XML content printable in most
situations: turn off style sheet support in your browser. on a
standards-built website, this will leave you with clean text. this can be
printed with better effect most of the time.

but with obsolete HTML sites, this is meaningless.

example site: http://dataSpheric.com. try it on your desktop, mobile device
or try the "print preview" on any page. our websites are built to read
across many devices. and i guess that's the point: the web doesn't really
put those tools in your hands, but as we learn how to make web sites better
and better, we're learing how to make the tools you have work on what we
build.

now there is one other thing that might help you: get Firefox and install
the Web Developer Toolbar. this will allow you to enable or disable style
sheets, images, and a host of other things that will let you snatch your
content without a bunch of garbage printing to screen.

hth!

Alternatively, print in landscape format.

It seems that Easy-WebPrint stopped working since last Saturday (4/15/06).
I printed webpages with Easy WebPrint v. 2.5 on Friday (4/16/06).
I was not able to print webpages yesterday and today.
The problem probably has to do with the recent update WinXP.

Yeah the Canon's broken. But Epson's web-to-page works just fine!

Maybe the equivalent for HP printers is the HP Web Printsmart Software?
See:

Thanks, AKA. It looks to be a troubleshooting utility.

But I'll e-mail tech support and see if they have something.

Update to the latest 2.6.3 version now out! This fixes the problem
completely!
