ut 2003 want to install dx8.1 but i have still dx 9.0b
installed.
but now the game doesn't work.i'm comming back to my
desktop without an error or something.
while the install of ut2003 you have to install dx 8.1
but i have dx 9.0 so i stopped the installation after the
question"install dx 8.1".
why does ut2003 not work? please help

My UT2003 demo works fine with DX 9. I believe you don't have to
install it or it will then say you have a later version and go on.

Hi Auran
There shouldn't be a problem playing ut2003 with DirectX 9.0b, I often play
myself with this configuration. Have you updated your video card drivers to
a recent version? Many card manufactures released DirectX 9 compliant
drivers over the last few months. If you want to remove DirectX9 it is
possible to do so by rolling back to a restore point before you installed
DX9 in the System Restore utility (Start > All Programs > Accessories >
System Tools > System Restore).

Alertativly you if your video card supports Accelerated OpenGL you could
change to UT2003's OpenGL renderer rather than using Direct3D. To do this
open ut2003.ini in /UT2003/System and change the following section from

[Engine.Engine]
RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice
;RenderDevice=Engine.NullRenderDevice
;RenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice

to:

[Engine.Engine]
;RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice
;RenderDevice=Engine.NullRenderDevice
RenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice

Just out of question have you recently tried to install any of the bonus
packs, i've seen incorrectly installed bonus packs do this sort of thing
before.
