Direct X update error

My dxdiag says I have dx 9.0b but when I try to update to 9.0c it doesn’t
install anything, and then tells me that it has been successfully installed.
The only strange thing is that dxdiag says my qasf.dll is and old version
(10.00.0000.3646). Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Try the full redistributable installation file for DirectX 9.0c:

Thanks for the help jimmy, but there was no luck it said it installed it but
my dxdiag still says 9.0b, any other ideas?

Hi Xiem,

Did you install a pre-release version of Service Pack 2?
Do you have the released version of SP 2 installed now?

I've got a copy of SP 2 installed now, would that make a difference? is there
anyway i can remove, or rollback Dx so i can get a fresh download of 9c?

Hi Xiem,

Yes, you can uninstall Service Pack 2 using Add-Remove programs
(via Control Panel) and then try updating DirectX again. I have seen
this type of issue before with pre-release versions of Service Pack 2.
