USMT and PST files

I am using Scanstate.exe to backup a local laptop. I am using a .inf I
created from the standard ones. I have it doing everything I want. It
backs up the user logged on to an share on a server. I have make a directory
with the user logged in by using a variable in the script to make the folder
based on the username. I takes all of the specific files I have it search
for on the C:\ and the entire D:\ and backs them up. It also does the
complete profile and its settings of the user logged on. (Network Drives,
Printers, and so on). When I run loadstate it brings the files I searched
for on the c: and copies them to D:\C_DATA and the entire D: from the source
Laptop goes back to the D:\. This part works perfect.

My questions are can scanstate and or loadstate reconnect a .pst file back
to the associated user? Also, since I have it backing up the current user
and the default all user settings it copies all of the startmenus. This
good and bad. Some of these people I will be using this on have had there
laptops for 5 years and they have installed useless junk. Now when
loadstate is done it copy's all of the start menu programs. Even the ones
that do not have the apps installed on the new laptop. Is there a way to
tell it not to copy the start menu folders if the app is not install or if
the group is empty? This would be great.

Also during scanstate and loadstate I have tried using the switch
/u:domain\user. Everytime I do this I get an error that it cant find the
account. It changes it to %computername%\domain\user. What I have to do is
use the /all since most of the users don't have admin rights and it only
backs up there profile then. This will be a problem if I hit a user that is
already an admin. It then backs up all the users wasting space.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I can only say that overwriting any pst will likely lead to corruption of
the pst, likewise copying any pst with OL open will cause corruption.

I am not having any problem with copying the pst. The question is can I get
it to connect back to the users Outlook profile?
