using word as e-mail editor receive interface not registered

I am receiving an error 'Interface not Registered' when using Word as the
e-mail editor for Outlook. The message appears when send is pressed. The
message is not sent. Any suggestions for fixing this problem. I did
re-install with no change. However I did not remove Office and install from
scratch.
