Using Windows XP's CD burner... does it have to use >\Local Settings\ApplicationData\Microsoft\CD Bu

Hello!

Does Windows XP's CD burner have to copy "to be burned" files to
C:\Documents and Settings\<account name>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\CD Burning\ location? Can't it just burn directly the
files where they are on HDD? I currently only have about 1 GB free on my
C: drive. Is there an registry option to change this behavior? If not,
how about using another location like g:\temp\CD Burning\ (did not see
anything in TweakUI).

Thank you in advance. :)

You might want to go back and double check TweakUI. Expand My
Computer. Click on Special Folders. CD burning is the first one
listed.

I already mentioned TweakUI. Where is it?

Ooops, thanks! Now, if I could find a way to have XP not to copy files
for burning!

No. If you want to burn files from where they are, you'll need a REAL
CD burning app, like Nero.

And you should consider getting a bigger harddrive too.

Use a third party program. The imapi burning function is very limited in
configurability.
