Using my CD-KEY

Here is my problem i have my CD-key but i no longer have the CD. i found a
copy of the CD but it will not let me use my CD key. so when i go to auto
updates it will not let me because the key has been blocked.

How can i use my CD-key with a different CD

The CD you use must me identical to the CD you lost.

If Windows XP is retail contact Microsoft for replacement CD:
