using multi-email sender with W Mail

I'm trying to find a free or shareware multi-email sender to broadcast news
for a non-profit group. My email contact list has about 500 names. I want
to be able to use bcc to list the names, or better, merge an email message
with a contact list from a database.

Has anyone had any compatibility issues using W Mail with such a program?

The one I'm currently trying is HS Multi-Email, but tech support suggests
that there is a security setting I must turn off to get it to work. I've
turned off the firewall in Windows Live One-Care (this is the only security
program I'm using), but that didn't help.

Does W Mail have internal security settings?

And if anyone has successfully used a multi-email program, I'd appreciate
knowing what it is.

Thanks.

Neither Windows Mail nor Windows Live OneCare will limit the
number of email recipients. However, nearly all ISPs limit the number
of recipients, typically somewhere in the range of 50-100.
This is done as an anti-spamming measure. You may have to get
a commercial account in order to get that limit raised.
