How can I get Movie Maker to use an MP4 ? Is there any upgrades for that ? Or
better yet, does anyone know how to take an MP4 song and remake it into a
..WAV or MP3 ? Quick, I need help. I'm trying to make a movie for my wedding
and the song is in MP4 format and I'm at a loss as to how to get it working.
Anyone out there who can help ?

Converting .mp4 to .wma should work for you.

If you prefer software...try the following:
(or...scroll way down for an online alternative)

Windows Media Encoder
http://tinyurl.com/bbal
or...
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...02-e496-465a-bba9-b2f1182cdf24&displaylang=en

How to convert .mp4 to .wma
using Windows Media Encoder

Open Windows Media Encoder

Left click...Convert a file / OK

Open the Files of type drop window and
choose...All Files...

On the File Selection screen...browse to the
..mp4 'Source File' you wish to convert

Also browse to and select a save folder and
enter a name for your converted 'Output File' /
Next

On the Content Distribution screen I usually
choose 'File Archive' / Next / Finish.

When you see the 'Encoding Results' screen
the task is complete.

Or...

If you are just converting a few files...
try the following free online converter.

Media-Convert
http://media-convert.com/

1) In the "File" field...click the "Browse"
button and navigate to the .mp4 audio file
you wish to convert. When you select the
file...the path will appear in the 'File' field.

2) In the "Input format" field open the drop
window and choose...Sound /
'MPEG advanced audio coding (.mp4)'

3) In the "Output format" field open the drop
window and choose...'ASF Audio (.wma)'

4) Left click the blue *OK* button.

Now...wait for the file to be converted.
(be patient)

When the conversion is complete you will see:

File successfull converted !

Double left click the converted .wma file and
the 'File' Download window ahould appear.
Click...Save...and the 'Save As' screen will
appear...left click the Save button / Choose a
folder to save in...left click the Save button.

When the file is downloaded you should be
able to play it with Windows Media Player
and it should be compatible with Movie maker.

That's it! Good luck.
