Movie Maker 2 How to add audio files

I'm soooo hoping someone can help me.
I've made a movie in movie maker and I'd like to add audio now. Except
everything I've tried won't work...It won't let me add any of my (paid for)
Itunes musice or any music from one of my CD's. All my music files say mp4
files.
Can anyone help???

thanks so much John for the quick, informative response! eventually I figured
out that I could just use Windows Media Player and just 'rip' the music file
and that worked!!!
