Using Media Player

I have some mp3 files that I copied from my Mac. The track names were
Track01, Track02, etc. I renamed them Track01.mp3 etc. I had the media player
open them and was able to download the album cover from the internet.
Everything plays fine. All track and album info is there and displays fine in
the player. Is there a way to change the names Trackxx in the directory to
the actual track name automatically?

Tools > Options > Library > [ ] Rename music using Rip music settings

I changed the preference. Now how do I get it to change the existing file
names?

Either wait and let it get done automatically, or Tools > Process Media
Information Now.

I would strongly advise turning off internet access during this period
as WMP may pick up incorrect album details from the online database and
rename files accordingly. Some tracks will be renamed into obscurity :-(.

Thank you for your answer. One problem that I had, at least with MP9 was that
everytime I requested an update online a duplicate entry was entered into the
media library. I now have MP10.
