using media player 10

Could someone please tell me if when you sync on wmp10, it automatically
converts music into mp3 mode, or do I have to have mp3 only. I would be very
grateful for any help...Thankyou,
 
Open WMP>Help>Synchronization>Device Information
It copies files from your selected playlist to your device as is.
If you are syncing CDAs or WMAs, your device may not be able
to play them, thus you'll need to convert them first to probably MP3 format.
Check what format your portable device supports first.
