Using ICF along w. Cable Router (necessary) ?

I have just configured a Linksys/Cisco Wired Cable Router to share an
internet connection to my ISP via cable modem.

I have a LAN w. Win NT Server, XP Home, and Win 2000 Wkstn computers
online simultaneously. I will likely setup Win NT, and Win 2000 PCs
as multi-boot w. XP Pro running on these machines as well. Should I
setup Internet Connection Firewall/Services on my XP boxes, since I'm
guessing Linksys Router will handle firewall, and security for all
computers hooked up to it.

If you setup ICF you likely will have trouble accessing resources on your
LAN. If you read start > help > ICF, it clearly states that ICF should only
be enabled for computers connected directly to the Internet and may
interfere with LAN communications if enabled on LAN connected computers.

It isn't necessary, however if one of the computers develops a virus/trojan, then your entire LAN could be subject to infection. I don't run ICF or any FW software on any of the pc's on my LAN however, I do run up to date virus scan software. I suggest you do the same :)
