Using Explorer to open drive C: has a major delay &

Would anyone know anything about this problem?

Using Explorer to open drive C: has a major delay & if I select multiple
files and right mouse click on them I also have this delay.

Sounds like the right mouse click problem in regards to the CONTEXT MENU!?!
But no.

If I right mouse click on the desktop there is no problem. Using shexview I
disabled everything in the context menu and in the end everything in the
whole list! Problem does not go away. Also some programs seem to take a while
to load.
If I right mouse click on a archive file there is also a delay. I use winrar.

Any help, please.

My system is a intel 2.8Ghz with 1 Gig of ram. Two sata hard drives setup as
a raid mirror.

Kind Regards

Stew.

O.k I found out something else.

If I right mouse click on a RAR file or any other file there is no problem,
unless I right mouse click on a adobe PDF file. I had installed Adobe acrobat
7.0 professional.

I have now uninstalled it but still have the same problem. and only with PDF
files and opening drive C: with explorer.

With the drive C: problem it is only when I do it the first time. after that
it is instant. Still annoying thou.

Thanks

Stew.

Hi Stew,

There is a known issue with a conflict with Windows Image Acquisition that
causes this behavior. Click start/run, type msconfig and click ok. Go to the
services tab and disable WIA, click apply/ok and reboot. Does the problem
still occur?
