Slow file opening... (No delay on right click)

Ozan KÖKSAL

Hi,

I cannot open files with double clicking properly. When I double click a
file (txt, xls, doc, etc...) system waits about 30 seconds then file opens.
If I open application and then call the file from "File/Open" there is no
problem, file opens quickly. Also I determined that if I unplugged the
network cable everything get well, no problems with unplugged network cable.

Windows XP Pro SP1 EN (Joining to a domain.)

There is no delay on right mouse click, this is not a context menu problem I
think.

I have a workaround: I disabled "DHCP Client" service, then give a static
IP, now I have no problem, everything is OK, but I want to resolve this
problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks & Regards

Figure out what the differences are between your static and dynamic IP
configuration. Look at DNS settings, node type, DNS suffix etc.

Did you see what the differences are between your static and dynamic setups>
It something in the dynamic setup causing the problem. From both setups open
a command prompt and type

ipconfig /all

Note all the settings. See what the differences are other than the actual
TCP/IP address. Post the results here if you are not sure what to look for.
