Using EndItAll2 with Win XP Pro

Can I use EndItAll2 with Win XP Pro to kill non-essential background
programs before running specific applications that require a lot of memory,
resources, etc.?

If so, what Win XP Pro apps are "essential" and must not be ended or killed?
