Using DVD recorder to capture Analog

Have a lot of 8MM tapes which I want to upload to my HDD and edit and burn
to DVD via WMM.

I can purchase a DVD recorder for <$100 and upload the tapes and burn DVDs
.... my question is how easy is it to then import the images from the DVD to
WMM? Thanks Greg

Seems to me that you could upload
directly from the Camcorder. Maybe the
