using distinctive ring w/ xp

tech support for us robotics says that xp does not support
the distinctive ring feature. Anyone have any info?

Hi Z,

This may apply to your situation.... particularly (about) the middle
paragraph.... where the AT commands are discussed....
(you'll need to add the command to your modem's advanced dialog box, under
"Extra initialization commands", most likely)
