Hi there,

I have a Company laptop that is used hardwired to the Company network but
also has an unused Wi-Fi connection.

As I do a lot of work from home I want to have the ability to print out
documents on my home printer connected to my home computer - this is a
standard XP Pro installation.

I have a wi-fi router at home and the laptop can access the Internet this
way without too many problems.

Without wishing to create any other accounts is there a way I can set up the
laptop to access my home printer?

What steps have to be taken on the home PC/Printer to enable it to be used
this way?

On the home PC go to Printers and Faxes, right click on the printer icon and
select Properties. Click the Sharing tab and select Share this printer - a
default share name will be entered - write this down.

On the work PC click Start/Run \\<NameofHomePC>\<PrinterShareName>
ENTER.

If the printer window opens, then you can use the Add Printer wizard to add
a network printer called \\<NameofHomePC>\<PrinterShareName>.
